Abstract:

The historical background of Wis 2:11a (namely, whether the possession of power gives someone the right to set right/ law) is in research rarely seen on the foil of political issues and in relation to the history of ideas in Greek-Hellenistic surroundings. If in that time one was well-versed in Greek philosophy, he could prove this position logically. Therefore, from the point of view of those who hold this philosophical position, any doubt on this interpretation of the right and authority of the judiciary or lawgiver is a dan-gerous provocation for those in power.
