Schriftauslegung in alttestamentlicher Perspektive
In witnessing God's creative and salvific activity towards mankind, the Bible is the essential source for Christian churches and communities to address questions of faith, life and service. In order to answer such questions in a responsible and compelling way, Christianity developed methods for scripture exegesis, as of course did Judaism. Interpreting the bible in changing historical contexts eventually led to the differentiation of a canon of theological disciplines. The essays in this volume explore fundamental questions and current challenges in understanding and using the Bible today. In demonstrating how theological disciplines interact in scripture interpretation, the authors show why academic scripture reading is essential for the future of Christianity.
