Abstract:

In his analysis of Sir 35:14-26, B.C. Gregory argues that this passage opens with a plight of the individual poor person, but rather soon turns into a prayer by the nation of Israel. This short note adduces further evidence to that view by drawing attention to a particular function the Book of Lamentations has for the Ben Sira passage under investigation.
