Abstract:

It is certain that ancient Greek concepts of embryogenesis influenced Jewish theories about the coming-into-being of a foetus. In that light the enigmatic remark of Bitenosh in lQapGen 2 about her "pleasure" in response to Lamech's worried question about who fathered their child (Noah) becomes clear: she refers to her orgasm considered as a sign of her own seminal emission during their begetting of the child.
