Abstract:
This book presents the text and Italian translation of the letters of Bar Kokhba from the Judean Desert, accompanied by a text-critical commentary. As an introduction, the volume presents a thorough analysis of the historical context of the letters and of the Second Jewish revolt. Two appendices close the volume. One presents the famous document from "Year 4 of the Destruction of the House of Israel" and one addresses the biblical texts dating back to the Second Revolt and the light they shed on the textual history of the Bible.
