Abstract:

Sivertsev argues that the traditional patriarchal households constituted the main building blocks within early Jewish sectarian movements. In terms of its social structure, at least at its early stages, the Dead Sea sect demonstrates remarkable similarity to the movement described in Nehemiah 10.
