DeSilva discusses the potential interest and emphases discernible in the Sinaiticus text (S) of 4 Maccabees. From among the many variant readings in S, several noteworthy patterns emerge that suggest how ancient readers would have experienced 4 Maccabees based on their reading of the S text, which differs from modern readers' experience of the book based on the eclectic text. He expounds the emergent patterns.
