Abstract:

Three small Hebrew written parchments, lacking any identifying sigla, each containing a few incomplete lines, were found in Y. Yadin's desk following his sudden death. It appears that the provenance of at least two of them may be ascribed to Qumran, and that Yadin had ac quired them on the antiquities market. In fragment a, the text in the masoretic version of Ps. 18:26-29 is partly preserved. The legible or recoverable words [ [ and ]vince the cultic character of fragment 2, and the piene spelling suggests a Qumran provenance. The references in fragment 3 to one who was in (God's) favor, [smote] his enemies, conquered kingdoms, to whom (peoples?) bowed and who accumulated a great fortune, suggest that the text pertains to King David. All three fragments were evidently written by trained scribes in a formal Herodian hand and thus can be dated to the late first century BCE or the early first century CE.
