קטע חדש מהנוסח העברי של ספר בן סירא
The article presents a hitherto unknown Genizah fragment which includes a part of the book of Ben Sira (Ecclesiasticus). The fragment, kept in a private collection in Germany for over a century, was sold to Mr. Gifford Combs of Los Angeles in April 2007. It consists of one bifolium from Ms. C, a known manuscript of Ben Sira, which is a collection of selected proverbs. It is a continuation of a fragment published by S. Schechter in 1900. Two additional pages, which make up the inner bifolium, were published separately by I. Levi and M. Gaster in the same year; J. Schirmann published the outer bifolium in 1960. The new fragment published here enables us to understand the logical order and the topic of the Ms. C collection. The first page of the new fragment includes several verses of Chapter 6 and some proverbs from other chapters. All are known from other Hebrew manuscripts of Ben Sira, but often in different versions. The second page includes proverbs from Chapters 20-25. It is the first time that they are published in Hebrew, the original language of the composition.
