Abstract:

This article examines the existence of the Book of Noah, arguing that this document existed during the Second Temple period and that it was a repository for some but not all of the diverse Noachic traditions of the time. The study will begin by analyzing Second Temple Noachic narratives and references to the writings of Noah, explaining why the data support the existence of a Book of Noah, and conclude by applying insights from Gospel Criticism to determine the baseline content of this document.
