Sir 38:1–15 develops a positive integration of contemporary medical science and practice: the first section (1–8) underlines the connection between physician, medicine and the order of creation; the second part (9–15) illustrates the relationship between medical science, practice and the traditional popular piety. Sir 38:1–15 exemplifies God’s activity through the forces of nature and human beings. Prayer acknowledges this profound and comprehensive connection.
