Review: המגילה החיצונית לבראשית עם מבוא ופירוש מאת י"א פיצמייאר - מהדורה שנייה

M. Weinfeld has published in this Journal an article on some juridical terms in ancient Semitic texts and their "correspondents" in Greek and Latin documents. It seems that the comparative study of Greek and Latin expressions and formulae was not very successful. Several words and terms cited by the author from Greek literary texts and inscriptions were not used in international treaties but in decrees and laws of the poleis. Oriental influences must be excluded.
