Abstract:

In a short and personal impression, a survey of Ben Sira commentaries and dissertations in the Netherlands from 1550 onwards is followed by a glance at how the author became intrigued by and involved with the study of the book of Ben Sira. Finally, some comments are made on the radical change Ben Sira research has undergone since the mid-sixties of the twentieth century.
