Abstract:

The extension of the meaning of the word mashiah (ITWO) taken as the name of a character eschatological savior, as the modern misuse of the term "messianic" to describe various perspectives of peaceful and glorious future have often lose sight of fundamental truths. JJ Collins recalled that no Messiah in the biblical texts with certainty required for post-exilic: Qohelet, Song of Songs, and Job. The actual messianic expectation seems to have affected all Jewish circles that coexisted before the catastrophe of 70 AD. The Jewish revolt against Rome resulted in countless misfortunes, which left survivors a sense of despondency without remedy. To overcome it, it was necessary to revive the flame of hope. Hope can only survive if suffering is coated with a positive sign, if it represents the "birth pangs" of Messianic times.
