In Tarbiẕ, LXII,1 (October-December 1992), pp. 45-54, M. Broshi and Ada Yardeni published a list of false prophets found at Qumran. Even though the list was damaged it can still be reconstructed. It names eight prophets, seven of whom occur in the Bible. The eighth must be a prophet who arose in post-biblical times. Apparently the author of the list believed that this person was a false prophet. He therefore includes him among famous false prophets. Since the name of the prophet's father was apparently Simon, it is possible that Joḥanan ben Simon (Hyrcanos) was intended.
