Abstract:

This article deals with the last main part of the Book of Baruch, a combination of two prophetic psalms (Bar 4:5–5:9). This text is characterised by a very intensive use of earlier Biblical material. My intention is to research the manner how Biblical metaphors are used, rewritten, and developed by the author(s) of these psalms, with special attention to the (Deutero-)Isaianic material alluded pre-eminently in these chapters.
