Abstract

Based on photographic and physical evidence, a new study argues that fragment 2 of scroll 6Q18 originated in Cave 4 rather than Cave 6, reclassifying it as an independent Qumranic composition. The text, written in early Herodian script, reflects a dualistic, poetic-theological worldview echoing themes from the Community Rule and Jubilees. The article demonstrates how early sorting challenges led to misattribution, highlighting the need to re-examine provenance using archival evidence.
