Abstract

The evidence presented in this study supports the return to the original presentation in the official edition. 4QMMT, contrary to the long-held assumption of textual fluidity, exhibits a high degree of textual stability. The three-part structure likely characterized the composition in all its copies. Apparent discrepancies result from either damaged preservation, mistaken identifications, or differences in scribal presentation. In comparison to genuinely fluid compositions from Qumran (such as the Community Rule), the consistent transmission of 4QMMT across six fragmentary but overlapping copies is striking.
