Abstract
A brief Damascus Document passage, CD 2:14–18, utilizes two authoritative corpora simultaneously. This study demonstrates through a close textual analysis that the passage is rewriting or reusing both Proverbs 7:24–27 and 1QS 1:3–9 of Serekh ha-Yahad. It goes on to consider the particular methodological advantages and complications that such a phenomenon offers for understanding rewriting in the Qumran context.
