Abstract

The article reviews recent discussions on various aspects of Pseudo-
|Ezekiel and the Apocryphon of Jeremiah C, published since the first edition
|appeared in 2001. The survey shows that the division to these two compositions is valid and is dictated by the different literary and thematic character of each one. The article also rejects the separation of 4Q390 from other copies of the Apocryphon of Jeremiah C and reiterates the arguments for identifying it as a copy of the Apocryphon. In addition the article points to several issues which have not been addressed by the scholarly discussions. Among them are the particular way of reworking the Hebrew Bible and adopted by each composition, the complex biblical exgesis supporting the idea of resurrection of the righteous in Pseudo-Ezekiel, and the meaning and import of the affinity shown by the Apocryphion of Jeremiah to the Qumran sectarian literature.
