Abstract

The Apocryphon of Jeremiah C is the title given to a hitherto unknown text that is conserved in six manuscripts from cave 4 in Qumran (4Q385a ; 4Q387 ; 4Q388a ; 4Q389 ; 4Q390 ; 4Q387a). The gist of the extant fragments of this Apocryphon contains several parts of what seems one divine discourse spoken to the prophet Jeremiah. In the way of contemporaneous Jewish apocalypses this discourse offers a panorama of history that goes from the earliest biblical episodes to the Second Temple period, and probably ends with the eschatological era.
