Abstract
Major dictionaries of Biblical Hebrew use the book of Ben Sira as supporting
evidence for their interpretations of the two verbs מסתולל (Exod 9:17) and תרצ־
דון (Ps 68:17), and of the form לשכנו (Deut 12:5). In this paper I shall reexamine
the evidence cited from Ben Sira, in order to determine whether or not it does
indeed support the interpretations offered for those biblical words.
Primary Texts: Apocrypha and Pseudepigrapha
Ben Sira, 40:28
Ben Sira, 14:22
Ben Sira, 14:25
