Abstract:
The present article suggests new readings for texts from the Dead Sea Scrolls, at which we arrived during our work on the Historical Dictionary Project. For 4Q381 1:4, we suggest that the reading and restoration ערך אור ותוה "(he) organized light and chaos" are preferable to שך אור ותיה. For 11Q5 XXVIII:13—14, the correct reading is אני ראיתי פלשתי חורף and not מחרף. Third, in the phrase החורת והמשוכים (5/6Hev 44:8, 15), החורת is more appropriate than החירת and should be interpreted as "the white"; compare to the synonymic שדה הלבן.
