Abstract:

The depiction of marriage in the Genesis Apocryphon is most interesting. This work reflects great interest in the status of women. The following comparative analysis will focus upon the references to anonymous women in the Genesis Apocryphon — the daughters of Men in the story of the Watchers and the wives of Noah and his offspring- in relation to the relevant biblical base-texts and to parallel narratives in associated literature, especially the Book of Jubilees and the Book of Tobit.
